About the Journal
Federal Prison, Law & Policy (FPLP) is an interdisciplinary, open-access scholarly journal devoted to the study of federal corrections and the legal, administrative, educational, rehabilitative, and policy systems that shape incarceration in the United States. FPLP publishes rigorous scholarship addressing federal prison law, correctional administration, sentencing and corrections policy, implementation science, rehabilitation, correctional education, institutional accountability, prison oversight, reentry, and related fields.
Published under the sponsorship of the Federal Prison Education and Reform Alliance (PERA), FPLP seeks to bridge disciplinary boundaries and facilitate meaningful dialogue among scholars, attorneys, judges, policymakers, researchers, educators, practitioners, and others engaged with the federal correctional system. The journal is committed to intellectual rigor, editorial independence, procedural fairness, open access, and the publication of scholarship representing diverse perspectives.
FPLP's objective is to provide a permanent scholarly forum for understanding federal corrections as a complex legal and public institution while advancing evidence-based analysis, informed policy discussion, and improved correctional practice.
